2020-21 Power Team
This fall we will be working hard with our athletes focusing on skill development and preparation for the new in-house competition season beginning January 2021.
Congratulations to all of our athletes for their hard work. We are so proud of how hard you have worked over the last few months to regain your skills and learn some new ones after all of the time we had off. Although this season may look a little different, we are beyond excited to have all of these amazing athletes involved in our Power Team in-house program.
It is sure to be a season to remember! Here’s a little peak into what the season will look like;
TEAMS: We have very carefully constructed these teams, keeping each individuals’ strengths in mind, to build well rounded, equally balanced teams within each level. If for any reason we need to alter the teams and move athlete positions around to ensure the teams stay equally balanced as our athletes progress throughout the season we will take that into consideration and do so as needed.
PRACTICE: Levels will be practicing all together at their events in order to keep the team comradery and vibe that we are known for here at BSGA. When it is time to stream or dance in their smaller teams, we will do so accordingly.
JUMP (Tumbling, Vault & Mini): We will be able to do some fun things with our athletes this year that we wouldn’t normally have the freedom of doing. We will be able to increase the ending skills of Tumbling passes
and shape/twisting degrees on Vault & Mini as we see fit per athlete/team.
DANCE: Dance choreography for each level will be “compulsory” meaning each team within a level will have the same music and general choreography, of course with a little added flair here and there when need be. This will allow judging to be as streamlined as possible come competition season and the interchanging of athletes on teams possible if in the event we may need to.
COMPETITIONS: As long as the state allows, we will begin our in-house competitions in March 2021. Each level will have a designated Competition time and compete against only the other teams within their level on Sunday afternoons.
Competition times are as follows and will be designated to a specific level at a later date; 2:00pm, 3:15pm & 4:30pm.
OFFICIAL TEAM PRACTICE – Begins Tuesday 12/1.
